HEY, PASS IT ON!
005
I once heard this statement: 'Everything we receive in the kingdom of God wasn't meant to stop with us, it should be passed on.' This blessed me so much and has changed my perspective a lot.
You see, my friends, that new life you now have must not end with you. The healing wasn't supposed to stop with you. Imagine if the disciples of Jesus, after they received this Gospel, did not pass it on to us. What would have been our fate?
This scripture always speaks to my heart: 'He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.' Again, that healing was not supposed to stop with you. Such as we have, we must give.
The sacrifice of Jesus Christ is at the mercies of you and I to share. We have been entrusted with the testimony of Jesus, the testimony of his resurrection, the testimony of the man who conquered death and gave us the hope and assurance that even though we die, we die to live again."
You remember the scripture referenced in our previous post? 2 Corinthians 2:14, let's look at it a bit, but this time in the easy version. 'But I thank God! He has won against sin because of what Christ has done. Christ is our leader, and we show that he is the winner. We also help people to know about Christ. That knowledge is like a lovely smell that comes to people everywhere.' If Christ is our leader and we are His followers, it means we ought to imitate him right? What example did He give us in the Bible to imitate?
The CSB version says, '...through us spreads the aroma of the knowledge of him in every place.' We see that the Bible is very clear about us giving that which we have received. A five-day-old believer has knowledge of the Lord that the world can and should hear — he or she knows the Lord as the savior!
The woman at the well, our great evangelist, encountered the Lord. I imagine their conversation wasn't even up to an hour, but she was changed and went about the city telling people about Jesus. Scripture says, 'All at once, the woman left her water jar and ran off to her village and told everyone, 'Come and meet a man at the well who told me everything I have ever done! He could be THE ONE we have been waiting for.' Hearing this, the people came streaming out of the village to go see Jesus.
My God! This woman understood something. Her testimony brought many into the light! I can only imagine how many people were liberated by Paul's testimony. If the same person who persecuted the church could be saved and transformed in such a manner, how much more can I? The world needs our testimony, and you and I have something they need. We should share it and pass it on!
The greatest testimony is that of a changed and transformed life, but it doesn't end there. We were transformed to transform. I pray today for the grace to be great stewards of our testimony, so that through us, the aroma of the knowledge of Him spreads in every place. Amen!
Remember, anything we receive in the kingdom must be passed on. If you received these words today, then you should share them with as many people as you can.
Have a blessed weekend, and I'll see you again next week!
